New Tasting Room Now Open!!

After 15 years in our modest looking and sized tasting room, Wild Goose Vineyards has finished construction on its new tasting room and wine shop! The new building has a spacious tasting room overlooking our Stoney Slope Riesling with the back drop of Peach Cliff Mountain to the north. The new space, which is adjoined to the current winery, will add a new dimension to our business allowing us to hold group events, private functions, including meetings, weddings, and tutored tastings. Food services will also be available through services provided by local chefs and caterers! Join us through the fall season for special events and tastings!

Screw Caps Galore!!

It was bound to happen sooner or later.  After dabbling with screw caps for many years, Wild Goose bottled its entire 2010 white wines (and Blanc de Noirs) under screw cap.  Though it was not an easy decision, we jumped full bore into the project.  With the positive response from the consumer and media that we have been having recently towards screw caps, the decision was made and no cork pullers will be needed for our 2010 whites!  We still are using natural corks on our red wines and a decision will be made next spring as to whether or not our 2010 reds will be” screwed or corked!”  We will keep you posted!

Riverside International Competition Declares Wild Goose “Small Winery Of The Year 2012!”

The Riverside International Wine Competition has named Wild Goose Vineyards as “Small Winery of The Year 2012!”  From the thousands of wine entries and hundreds of wineries entered, Wild Goose wines received broad commendation in most categories entered from limited production wines.  General Manager of Wild Goose Vineyards, Roland Kruger, was very excited to hear of the huge accolade, ” we had heard many positive comments about the Riverside Competition so this year we decided to enter a number of our wines, and to receive this result is very exciting!  The 2011 vintage was excellent and we certainly saw this in the results of the competition!  Just as excited as we were with the 2011 white wines we were very pleased to see that our 2009 reds won numerous awards, including silver medals for the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2009 Pinot Noir”  Congratulations to winemaker Hagen Kruger and his production crew!
